A random spillage of programming (and other) thoughts

I am in the process of re-installing my operating system here at work and so I decided to post a list of all the different tools I always install on every computer that I use.  Here it is:

That’s it for now, I will post more if I can remember them.

    Good list… Here’s a few on mine:
    7-zip – Archive File Manager
    CDBurnerXP – CD/DVD Burner
CodeRush Xpress – FREE trimmed-down version of CodeRush
    Expresso – Regular Express Builder/Tester
    Fiddler – HTTP logger
    Overdisk – Disk Usage Analyzer
    Paint.NET – Image Editor
    PDFCreator – PDF Printer
    PSPad – Text Editor
Snippet Designer – VS add-in that simplifies building snippets
    UltraVNC – Remote Desktop Control
Versioning Controlled Build – VS Plugin to manage versioning
WinMerge – File Compare / Merge
XMLPad – XML Viewer / Editor
XNews – Usenet reader (yes, it still lives – I use it mainly for Microsoft public newsgroups)
    Xobni – Outlook email manager

Also, you use SnagIt for screen capture; I use <a href=”http://www.google.com/search?q=faststone+image+capture+5.3&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a”FastStone Image Capture v5.3 – it’s an old version, but it’s freeware and has pretty good features. It doesn’t do video, but then you can always use CamStudio for that.
